T-REX vs WordPress vs Divi
What is T-REX Functionality vs. WordPress vs. Divi?
- WordPress is a website creation tool and is one of the easiest and most powerful blogging and website content management system (or CMS). (pages, posts, appearance, users, media, comments, settings, tools, plugins)
- Divi is a WordPress theme and includes the PageBuilder tool.
According to WordPress:
"A WordPress Theme is a collection of files that work together to produce a graphical interface with an underlying unifying design for a weblog. These files are called template files. A Theme modifies the way the site is displayed, without modifying the underlying software."
The options under the WordPress "Appearance" menu will change depending on the theme you have installed since themes are integrated into WordPress.
- T-REX is an ecommerce and marketing platform (products, campaigns, collections, funnels, etc).
T-REX is a WordPress plugin.
If you hover over or click on a T-REX menu item, it expands to show you the T-REX options available below that menu item. Here are a couple of examples.
Because T-REX is a WordPress plugin, it is very integrated with WordPress and the Divi theme.
To have a T-REX Collection of Products displayed on your website, the T-REX Collection shortcode is added to a WordPress page. The WordPress page is then displayed on your website. You may use the Divi Page Builder to edit the WordPress Page.
In this screen shot, you can see a WordPress Page in edit mode that is using the WordPress standard page editor. In this example, Divi theme is installed but the Divi Page Builder is not activated.
If you click the "Use The Divi Builder" button, then the Divi theme's functionality is used instead of the standard WordPress functionality for editing the WordPress Page.
In this example, the three bars next to "Dads" was clicked to edit the "Dads" text module.
The T-REX Collection shortcode is entered into Divi's "Text Module" which is embedded in the WordPress Page.
