How To Prepare For Your T-REX Site To Be Moved to Your Own Hosting (AKA Self-Hosted)

To allow T-REX support staff to move your T-REX store, which is a WordPress plugin, from T-REX servers to your own hosted servers, you will need to follow a few instructions to complete the prerequisites.

Prerequisites

1) Obtain hosting for your site
We recommend hosting with NameCheap since they are affordable, offer free WhoisGuard and free 1 year free Positive SSL certificate.

a. Visit NameCheap.com

b. Click on Hosting > Shared Hosting

c. Select a plan, 1 month or 1 year hosting (it's up to you) and click Add to Cart

d. Complete your purchase

2) Obtain an SSL Certificate for your site

Read more about SSL Certificates on the NameCheap website. https://www.namecheap.com/blog/free-ssl-with-new-cpanel/

4) Provide your CPanel login to T-REX support

After Your Site Has Been Moved

1) Setup your email accounts on the new hosting.

Here are instructions for setting up email on NameCheap hosting

If you choose a different hosting provider, please search their knowledge base or contact their support. We recommend setting up the same email addresses that you had previously so nothing breaks.

We will backup the email files in CPanel and move them to your new self-hosted email account(s).

2) Test your T-REX site

Make sure products, collections and campaigns all work. Test the checkout process.

Monthly Membership

If your intent is to cancel your hosting/membership, please remember to notify the T-REXecom support team by submitting a ticket requesting that your membership be cancelled.
